Showing is an important extension of the training process, and Rita believes that successful competition comes from thoughtful preparation, confident riding, and a clear understanding of what is expected in the show ring.

Throughout the show season, Rita travels with her clients to competitions across New England and along the East Coast, providing both coaching and training support throughout the entire experience. During the winter months, she also accompanies clients to competitions in Florida, giving riders the opportunity to continue their training and showing in one of the country’s most competitive dressage environments.

​

Rita’s experience as a USEF “S” Dressage Judge gives her clients an invaluable advantage at competitions. Because she regularly sits at C herself, she understands exactly what judges are looking for—from the quality and correctness of the training to the accuracy, presentation, and overall impression of a test. She is able to watch a horse and rider with a judge’s eye, quickly identifying where points can be gained, where marks may be lost, and which details will make the greatest difference in the ring.

That perspective allows Rita to go far beyond traditional show coaching. She helps riders understand how a judge sees their test, while also ensuring that improvements are made through correct training rather than simply riding for a score. Whether it is refining a movement, improving the flow and accuracy of a test, developing a warm-up strategy, or helping a rider present their horse with greater confidence, Rita brings both a trainer’s experience and a judge’s insight to every ride.

Rita is available for show coaching, schooling and training rides, test preparation, warm-up support, and post-test review. She works closely with each rider to develop an individualized plan for the competition, helping both horse and rider arrive at the ring prepared, confident, and ready to perform at their best.

From a rider’s first recognized competition to championship shows and the FEI levels, Rita’s goal is not simply to help her clients earn better scores—it is to teach them how to become better competitors and more knowledgeable riders with every trip down centerline.
