USDF Bronze, Silver & Gold Medalist • USEF “S” Dressage Judge

Rita Brown is an accomplished Grand Prix rider, trainer, instructor, and nationally recognized USEF “S” Dressage Judge. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has earned her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals.

Throughout her career, Rita has ridden multiple horses at the Grand Prix level, including two she developed and trained herself. She has earned numerous regional titles across the levels aboard both her own horses and those of her clients, establishing a reputation for thoughtful, classical training and the successful development of horse-and-rider partnerships.

Rita is equally passionate about helping her students achieve their goals. More than 15 of her students have earned their USDF Silver Medals under her guidance, many others have achieved their Bronze Medals, and several have gone on to earn their Gold Medals. Her approach combines a strong foundation in classical dressage with an ability to tailor her instruction to the individual needs of each horse and rider.

For more than 25 years, Rita has operated her training business from the beautiful Longmeadow Farm in Scituate, Massachusetts, where she offers boarding, training, and instruction for competitive dressage horses and riders. In addition to her work at home, Rita judges dressage competitions throughout the United States on a year-round as a USEF “S” Judge.

Continuing education has always been an important part of Rita’s career. For the past 16 years, she has spent winters in Florida training and studying with many of the sport’s most respected riders, trainers, and clinicians. Her extensive educational background includes opportunities to work with Christopher Hickey, Pam Goodrich, Volker Moritz, Catherine Haddad, Morten Thomsen, Ulla Salzgeber, Steffen Peters, Henk van Bergen, Debbie McDonald, and other leading professionals in international dressage.

Rita continues to participate regularly in clinics and educational opportunities across the country, bringing new knowledge and perspective back to her horses and students while remaining firmly grounded in the principles of classical dressage.
